No one wants to be called a hypocrite. It bites at our humanity and devalues our esteem. Yet, we are all hypocritical at some point in our lives. Jesus had this rebuke against the people who thought they were alright with God because they were religious
Matthew 15:7(ESV)7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”
We have to make sure that our lives are matching our lips. That what we say we believe we are living it out. It does us no good to claim we believe something and then disprove that belief by some action in our lives.
What you do speaks so loud,
that I cannot hear what you say.
