Today I began a new journey. About two weeks ago I accepted the call from FBC Versailles, MO to be their Senior Pastor. I was excited and nervous. Over the last two weeks, I have had to say goodbye to a lot of great people. I spent 11 years of my life serving as the Minister to Youth at FBC Clinton, MO.
This morning I loaded up all my clothing and office “stuff” into the truck and headed out of Clinton toward Versailles. My first day has been somewhat typical–unpack and learn about new office procedures. It has been a good day–exhausting unloading and setting up the office, but very good.
There is still work to be done, but it is coming together.
As I was hanging a picture in my new office that I had hanging in my old office, I was reminded of the responsibility that lays before me. The picture is of Romans 10:14-15 which says:
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
God has sent me to Versailles, MO to preach the gospel so that people can hear and believe in Jesus.
I am really looking forward to this adventure!
